Things to Do & See This restful haven is in a quiet area of Walton Beach, but only ten minutes from shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Head west on Hwy 98 and you’ll hit Destin. There is so much to do! Restaurants of all kinds (large corporate concepts and small owner operator concepts) are all along Hwy 98. The shopping is out of this world, there’s the Silver Sands Factory Stores (the largest designer outlet mall in the country!), art studios, lots of touristy beach souvenir type places, and plenty of grocery stores like Bruno’s and Publix, and even a Super Wal-Mart about 10 miles down the road from where you turn on to Hwy 98. Our teenage grandkids spend time every summer at ‘The Track.’ Bumper cars, a 3 story high race track for Go Karts, bungee jumping, miniature golf, and lots of kiddie rides keep everyone busy for hours. The kids like the Friday Night Teen Party at Fudpuckers too! Head east on 30A and you’ll run into lots of great restaurants and shopping, but the pace is much slower than the Destin area.
